| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Cholecystectomy is the major abdominal procedure that is most often practiced in western countries. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have represented the treatment of choice as analgesics, they are constantly used in general surgery, but their use carries certain risks such as peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, among others. Such side effects can be avoided with limited time and dose therapy of the drug administered. Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study of prospective collection will be carried out with the objective of determining the effectiveness of the use of NSAIDs with reduced therapy at three days in patients undergoing cholecystectomy at the Dr. Marcelino Vélez Santana Regional General Hospital . Results: The sample consisted of 125 patients where the most frequent age range was 30-39 years with a total of 36 patients representing 28.8 percent. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy with a population of 79 patients was the most frequently used procedure, representing 63.2 percent of the patients evaluated, of which 51 patients had mild pain on the 3rd day of treatment for 40.8 percent. The most commonly used drug was Ketorolac 30 mg for a total of 59 patients, which corresponded to 47.2 percent of the patients evaluated, of which 38 patients had mild pain on the third day of treatment, corresponding to 30.4 percent. . Conclusion: After analyzing and discussing the results, we obtained the following conclusions: 28.8 percent of the patients were in the range of 30-39 years. Regarding clinical manifestations, pain represented 100.0 percent. Regarding the type of cholecystectomy, the laparoscopic route was the most commonly used, representing 63.2 percent of the patients evaluated. Regarding the efficacy of NSAIDs, 53.6 percent of the patients showed mild pain on the third day of treatmen | |
