Manufacturing and service industries around the world, independently from the sector or the products that are commercialized, have modified, since the last decade of 20th century, their business and project execution strategy, adopting risk management as a key part of their planning stage, in order to meet the goals established by the stakeholders and sponsors, therefore increasing the productivity and predictability in the market. This risk management, as an initiative of international audit and standardization institutions, has allowed companies to attack the uncertainty of events by creating response plans that reduce the negative impact and in other cases, maximize the positive impacts, increasing profitability. The institutions with risk management standards, provide guidelines to evaluate uncertainty of the project and the tolerance of risk, promoting the success of projects that follow them. By pursuing the guidelines established by the Project Management Institute, the cohesion with the other knowledge areas described in their book of knowledge, is guaranteed. By performing the stakeholder identification, the chronogram of the project, listing the risk events and measuring the qualitative and quantitate impact of the risks identified, a response plan for the critical events is performed and a monitoring plan for the eves with less severity. In this graduate research, it’s intended to use of investigation, data collection & risk measurement techniques, with the purpose of creating a risk management strategy for the electronic device manufacturing company NAPCO DR during the introduction of the SLE-CDMA wireless alarm, and assuring the meet of the quality, cost and time goals of the project.
