Fracturas de clavícula: comparación entre tratamiento quirúrgico y conservador octubre-diciembre 2020

Abstract

La fractura de clavícula es una solución de continuidad que se produce a cualquier nivel de este hueso, esta puede ser el resultado de un golpe directo o indirecto sobre el hombro. Las fracturas de clavícula representan aproximadamente el 5% de todas las fracturas tratadas en los servicios de urgencias de los hospitales de nuestro país. Las fracturas de clavícula corresponden al 12% de todas las fracturas y del 44 % al 66 % de las fracturas de la región del hombro. La postura terapéutica que se debe adoptar al momento de tratar una fractura de clavícula ha sido grandemente debatida en los últimos años, siendo las alternativas para esta el manejo quirúrgico o conservador. En este trabajo revisaremos la información actual y haremos algunos aportes en cuanto a qué tipo de manejo es más conveniente a la hora de tratar esta patología.

The clavicle fracture is a break in continuity that occurs at any level of this bone, this can be the result of a direct or indirect impact to the shoulder. Clavicle fractures represent approximately 5% of all fractures treated in the emergency services of hospitals in our country. Clavicle fractures are 12% of all fractures and 44% to 66% of fractures in the shoulder area. The therapeutic position that should be adopted when treating a clavicle fracture has been greatly debated in recent years, the alternatives for this being surgical or conservative management. In this work we will review the current information and we will add some comments as to what type of management is more convenient when treating this pathology.
