dc.description.abstract | La colocación de catéter intravasculares es de uso frecuente para el menejo diagnostico y/o terapéuticos de los pacientes ingresados en los diferentes centros de salud, con el objetivo de determinar las complicaciones relacionadas a la colocación de catéter venoso central, se realizo un estudio descriptivo y prospeptivo, de corte transversal en el Hospital Salvador B. Gautier durante el periodo enero – abril 2018. Se estudiaron 136 pacientes, de los cuales 52 pacientes presentaron algún grado de complicacion. El 23 porciento de los pacientes tenían edades comprendida entre 50 y 59 años, el sexo femenino fue el más afectado con un 74 porciento, el 27 porciento de los pacientes tenían como morbilidad hipertensión arterial, el sitio de mayor punciones fue yugular interna con un 67 porciento, el tiempo de canalización mas frecuente fue de 0 – 5 minutos con un 62 porciento, el 42 porciento de los pacientes tuvo una puncion a estructuras vecinas, seguido con un 23 porciento los hematomas del sitio de puncion, el neumotórax estuvo presente en el 15 porciento de los pacientes, mientras que el hemotorax se presento en el 12 porciento de los pacientes, siendo la fibrilación auricular la de menor presentación para 8 porciento de los pacientes, al 67 porciento de los pacientes se le realizo una toracotomía minima bajo sello de agua, el 63 porciento de los pacientes tuvo una colocación fácil del catéter venoso central.
