dc.description.abstractSe realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo y transversal con el objetivo de determinar la prevalencia de cáncer de próstata en pacientes menores de 60 años asistidos en el Hospital Central de Las Fuerzas Armada entre enero-abril del 2019. El universo estuvo constituido por 2,363 pacientes y la muestra fue de 26 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer de próstata. Se reporta una prevalencia de 1.1 por ciento, el 80.8 por ciento se halló entre los 55-59 años, el 65.4 por ciento procedía de la zona urbana, un 50 por ciento se encontraba soltero, el 76.9 por ciento se encontró con una gradación Gleason entre 6-7, un 76.9 por ciento se encontró en un estadío clínico T1, el 65.4 por ciento se halló padeciendo retención urinaria y en el 100 por ciento se utilizó cirugía como medio de tratamiento. It was a descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study was conducted with the objective of determining the prevalence of prostate cancer in patients under 60 years of age attended at the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces between January-April 2019. The universe consisted of 2,363 patients and the sample was 26 patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. A prevalence of 1.1 percent is reported, 80.8 percent were between 55-59 years, 65.4 percent came from the urban area, 50 percent were single, 76.9 percent found a Gleason gradation Between 6-7, the 76.9 percent were in a clinical stage T1, 65.4 percent were found to have urinary retention and 100 percent used surgery as a means of treatment.en_US
