dc.description.abstractSe realizó un estudio prospectivo, con el objetivo de determinar el impacto psicológico en madres con niños afectados por zika virus, en el Hospital Regional Taiwan de Azua, en el periodo 2016-2017. El 51.2 por ciento de las madres tenían una edad entre 20 a 35 años, el 73.2 por ciento de las madres eran de primaria, el 86.6 por ciento de las madres vivian en unión libre, el 61 por ciento de las madres eran de procedencia urbana, el 86.6 por ciento de las madres dicen que su reacción seria incontrolable al saber que su hijo contrajo sika, el 100 por ciento de las madres dice que no le negaría el diagnostico a su hijo si manifiesta síntoma de zika, el 93.9 por ciento de las madres creen que esta enfermedad presenta un riesgo de muerte para sus hijos, el 100.0 por ciento de las madres se ha sentido triste o preocupado por su consecuencia, el 93.9 por ciento de las madres sabe cómo prevenir el riego de infectarse por zika, el 100 por ciento de las madres dice que el zika representa un riesgo para su salud y la de su bebe, el 100 por ciento de las madres se sienten tristen si su hijo presenta riesgo de nacer con alguna discapacidad. A prospective study was conducted, with the objective of determining the psychological impact on mothers with children affected by Zika virus, at the Taiwan Regional Hospital of Azua, in the 2016-2017 period. 51.2 percent of the mothers were between 20 and 35 years old, 73.2 percent of the mothers were elementary school, 86.6 percent of the mothers lived in free union, 61 percent of the mothers were of urban origin , 86.6 percent of the mothers say that their reaction would be uncontrollable knowing that their son contracted sika, 100 percent of the mothers say that he would not deny the diagnosis to his son if he manifests a symptom of Zika, 93.9 percent of mothers believe that this disease presents a risk of death for their children, 100.0 percent of mothers have felt sad or worried about its consequence, 93.9 percent of mothers know how to prevent the risk of becoming infected by Zika, the 100 percent of mothers say that Zika represents a risk to their health and that of their baby, 100 percent of mothers feel sad if their child is at risk of being born with a disability.en_US
