Hipertensión arterial posterior a tratamiento de quimioterapia agosto - septiembre 2020
Abstract
Hypertension and its different types of causes were described, highlighting among them that caused by drugs, more specifically chemotherapeutic agents of which we identified their different side effects depending on their different mechanism of action. Among the groups of these drugs whose mechanism of action tends to develop arterial hypertension are antiangiogens and tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which indirectly or directly affect, respectively, the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway, which has an important participation in the production of nitric oxide, which is the most powerful vasodilator agent, thus causing the predominance of vasoconstrictor agents and as a consequence, arterial hypertension.
