Abstract
Se determina la importancia del CA-125 como predictor de cirugía citorreductora óptima en cáncer de ovario epitelial, Instituto de Oncología Dr. Heriberto Pieter, 2015-2017, se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 115 pacientes diagnosticadas con cáncer de ovario epitelial. Se analizan y discuten los resultados se ha llegado a las siguientes conclusiones: El 39.2 por ciento de las pacientes tenían de 40-59 años de edad. El 94.7 por ciento de las pacientes fueron multípara. El 40.9 por ciento de las pacientes presentaron en los síntomas aumento del perímetro abdominal. El 3.5 por ciento de las pacientes presentaron cáncer de mama en los antecedentes personales oncológicos. El 4.4 por ciento de las pacientes presentaron cáncer de mama en los antecedentes familiares oncológicos. El 13.3 por ciento de las pacientes tenían un ca 125 pre quirúrgico mayor de 600 Ul,. El 60.1 por ciento de las pacientes presentaron tumoraciones mayores de 10 cm. El 46.1 por ciento de las pacientes les fue realizada cirugía óptima. El 64.4 por ciento de las pacientes tenían tipo histológico cistadenocarcinoma papilar seroso. El 45.3 por ciento de las pacientes estaban en etapa IV. Esto indica que el nivel preoperatorio de CA-125, es un buen predictor de citorreducción óptima. Sin embargo, todos los resultados tanto clínicos (tamaño del tumor, características) como radiológicos (invasión a ganglios, metástasis) deben ser evaluados en conjunto, teniendo en cuenta que incluso los pacientes con un mayor nivel sérico de CA-125 pueden tener una reducción óptima.
