Abstract
Integration of the knowledge, skills, and experience of multiple dental disciplines and associated fields is often required in comprehensive treatment. Rapid scientific and technological advances make it difficult for dental practitioners to keep up to date in their own fields, let alone other specialties, so that an Interdisciplinary approach has become essential.Careful diagnostics and treatment planning are especially critical to success in difficult cases. This article describes a mixed-dentition
patient with a Class III malocclusion and traumatic internal resorption of a permanent central
incisor who benefited from the combined skills of practitioners in four dental disciplines.
