Características clínico-epidemiológicas de tiña de la cabeza en menores de 15 años que acuden a la consulta del Instituto Dermatológico Dominicano y Cirugía de piel (IDDCP) noviembre 2019 – febrero 2021

Abstract

La tiña de la cabeza es la infección del pelo y cuero ca belludo, causada por varias especies de dermatofitos de los géneros Trichophyton y Microsporum. Se manifiesta con mayor frecuencia en niños y adolescentes, afecta el pelo y la piel cabelluda y abarca un amplio rango de manifestaciones clí nicas que van desde lesiones descamativas leves hasta vesículas y pústulas. Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal con recolección prospectiva de datos con el objetivo de determinar las característi cas clínico epidemiológicas de tiña de la cabeza en menores de 15 años que acu den a la consulta del Instituto Dermatológico Dominicano y Cirugíaa de Piel (IDDCP) noviembre 2019-febrero 2021. Resultados: Mediante las técnicas de KOH y Técnica de Sabouraud, se demos tró que, de 371 pacientes, 285 pacientes tuvieron como resultado positivo (77 por ciento) y 86 pacientes tuvieron como resultados negativos (23 por ciento), en cuanto a los agentes etológicos obtuvimos que para T. Tonsurans un 48 por ciento (138 pacientes), seguido de un 35 por ciento (99 pacientes) con presencia de M.Canis y luego de un 17 por ciento (48 pacientes) en presencia de M. Audouinii. Se concluyó que el hongo prevalente fue el Trichophyton Tonsurans 48 por ciento.

Tinea capitis is an infection of the hair and scalp, caused by several species of dermatophytes of the genera Trichophyton and Microsporum. It manifests itself more frequently in children and adolescents, affects the hair and scalp, and encompasses a wide range of clinical manifestations ranging from mild descamative lesions to vesicles and pustules. An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out with prospective data collection with the objective of determining the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of tinea capitis in children under 15 years of age who attended the Dominican Dermatological Institute. and Skin Surgery (IDDCP) November 2019 – february 2021. Results: Using the KOH techniques, Sabouraud Technique and Wood Light, it was demonstrated that of 371 patients, 285 patients had a positive result (77 percent) and 86 patients had a negative result (23 percent) , regarding the ethylogic agents obtained for T. Tonsurans, 48 percent (138 patients), followed by 35 percent (99 patients) with the presence of M. Canis and then 17 percent (48 patients) in the presence of M. Audouinii.
